These are truly exciting times at GEICO. After successfully launching a new office just outside of Indianapolis in 2013, GEICO held a celebratory ribbon-cutting event last month to officially open the company’s new claims operation in the greater Houston area.

Texas Gov. Rick Perry, who also attended GEICO’s announcement event for the Houston office in December 2013, joined Berkshire Hathaway Chairman and CEO Warren Buffett, GEICO Chairman and CEO Tony Nicely and GEICO Houston branch manager Tara Carthew as they cut the ribbon on the brand-new 138,000-square-foot facility. Many of GEICO’s partners in the community, as well as some 340 new GEICO associates, also attended the ceremony.

Will GEICO be expanding further in the future? While I don’t know of any specific plans, I wouldn’t bet against it, based on the company’s strong growth and extensive hiring efforts. I guess we’ll just have to stay tuned!
