Memory of the Month: Springing forward

Each month, we share an image from GEICO’s past and invite you to exercise your caption-writing skills.

GEICO’s an incredibly successful company by just about any measure, but it has never been one to stand pat. Prior to moving into the current corporate headquarters just on the Maryland side of the border with Washington, D.C., in 1959, GEICO occupied a couple of different properties in the District.

GEICO is continually on the move, literally or figuratively, thanks to the growth of the company combined with the constant quest for better ways to conduct business and better places in which to conduct it. The most recent example is the new sales and service facility we’ve just opened in Indianapolis.

And even though I’ve worked at the same location for nigh unto 30 years now, if I let a few weeks go by without walking around the building, I’ll find new faces in old places. We regularly relocate people within our walls in search of greater efficiency and better use of our existing space.

The folks in this photo appear to be involved in some sort of moving operation, but what I can’t figure out is whether they’re coming or going. What do you think? Are they packing in preparation for a move, or are they settling into a new space? Let us know in the comments.
