I have a lot of blessings to count at this time of year (and any other time, really). I’m basically healthy, happily married, and gainfully employed. I’m particularly thankful for my company right now, but not just because GEICO pays my salary.
The recent hurricane/superstorm reminds me that my company serves a critical role in times of trouble. Faced with tens of thousands of claims, our catastrophe team has worked tirelessly since Sandy hit to do right by our customers; to deliver on our promise of service. We were on the scene as soon as the storm passed, and while there’s still much to do, our team is committed to resolving every claim as quickly as possible and helping to restore some measure of normalcy to our policyholders in the stricken areas.
I’m thankful for the dedication of my colleagues who serve on and support our catastrophe teams. I’m thankful that my company is on firm enough financial footing to be able to absorb a blow like this without having to limit the service we provide in any way. I’m thankful that I can say I work for a company that helps people when they need it the most.
What are you thankful for this week?
