Matthew Schneider, the elementary school winner, accepts his grand-prize check from GEICO’s regional vice president, George Rogers, at a special award presentation.

GEICO’s annual Safety Poster & Video Contest enjoyed another successful year, with hundreds of entries in the poster, computer-generated and video categories. Our judges had a hard time choosing only five grand-prize winners.

In the poster category of the contest, the winners were:

  • Matthew Schneider of Florida in the elementary school category, for his three-dimensional piece encouraging kids to “buckle up.”
  • Min Joo Kim of Virginia in the middle school category, for her exceptional piece reminding drivers of the dangers of texting while driving.
  • Eugene Parfilko of New Jersey for the high school category. Judges were extremely impressed with Eugene’s life-like images encouraging people to “drive safely.”

In the computer-generated category, the winner was Maya Gouw of North Carolina, who successfully illustrated the importance of not texting while driving. And finally, in the video category of the contest, the winner was Ryan Butler of Connecticut, whose emotional video encourages students to wear their safety belts.

Congratulations again to all our winners! For more information about the contest and our winners, visit www.geicosafetycontest.com.

it’s awesome that they took the picture just as that dude’s shades fell off.

I think the sunglasses are on a string, like someone’s eyeglasses are, so they don’t lose them.

ITS NICE TO SEE THAT WE INVOLVE CHILDREN INTO THIS LARGE PICTURE WHICH ULTIMATELY CREATES SAFE DRIVERS  :)
