GEICO Partners with USO

It’s no secret that GEICO loves the military. We’re proud to support the men and women of our armed forces and that’s why GEICO recently made the commitment to donate $300,000 to be shared over the next three years by the Hampton Roads & Central Virginia and North Carolina chapters of the United Service Organizations.

GEICO’s funding will help support the USO’s Wellness for Warriors program to develop airport and base reception centers for military personnel and their families.

GEICO regional vice president, Joe Thomas, presented the checks to each chapter; here are some pictures from the events.

Even Miss America joined the Gecko and Joe Thomas at the USO. Miss America (Teresa Scanlon from Nebraska) chose to support the USO as her primary platform.

Pictured above you’ll see, Robb Teer, chairman, Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority; Joe Thomas, regional vice president for GEICO’s; Connie Inggs, USO of North Carolina RDU Center Director; and John Falkenbury, president and COO of the USO of North Carolina. Everyone was all smiles as they accepted the check at the newly renovated Wellness for Warriors reception center in Raleigh.

It has often been said that the USO is there only if you care.  GEICO has demonstrated time and again they care.  Way to GO GEICO.

way to go GEICO; i used to hang out at the USO airport locations all the time when i was waiting for flights and it helped that i was not bored in the terminal but had somewhere to go with my fellow “brothers” in arms!    – Semper Fi -

My family has spent considerable time at USO locations across the country when stranded between flights.  The fact that GEICO cares enough to stand behind this great service and our honorable military makes me proud to work here.
