This photo was taken at a company outing in the 1940s; clearly a celebration of some sort. That’s GEICO Founder Leo Goodwin standing tall and looking serious in the middle. He’s flanked by a group of colleagues who are … well, somewhat shorter and a lot less serious. Even back then, way before the introduction of the Gecko, GEICO associates knew that they didn’t have to be boring just because they worked at an insurance company!
What caption would you write for this latest addition to our Memory of the Month series?

Casual Friday can be confusing to some.
If a company’s success is a reflection of it’s employees appearance, then we’re in serious trouble!
“The fourth one from the left, officer; he’s the one who saved me 15% on my car insurance in 15 minutes.”
Saving Money with Geico, its what all the fashionable people are doing.
15 minutes could save you enough to have these fashions, sense not includes.
The end of prohibition celebration.
You should have seen the group that was not hired!
The Geico Family Reunion!
Goonies amongst us!
You don’t have to dress up to save on car insurance.
The young lady showing off her garter is in CLEAR violation of the GEICO dress code, hope security escorted her out of the building
“Hey Abe, do these boots make me look silly?”
Gertrude, being the risqué gal that she is, decides to show some knee.
“I’ll never build a successful Insurance Company with these clowns.”
Let’s do the time warp again!
Gertrude says: “Maybe if I show some knee, I’ll get a raise.
I hate Friday afternoon meetings.
The third one from the left… did she give someone the idea for “Big Bird” some 20-25 years later?
honey, I’m trying to tell you, no one else will insure us! We HAVE no other choice!
We offer something for everyone!
Read this on a Monday! Definately made me laugh thanks!
If these folks can sell Geico it has to be great insurance
okay! will the clown that stole the chairs bring them back now!
GEICO’s founder meets with the CEO’s of Allstate, State Farm, Progressive, Travelers and USAA to discuss the serious nature of the insurance business.
No, no, really Mardi Gras is in New Orleans. We really must leave to make it there in time.
those boots look like the ones my niece got for xmas in 2010 and the lady at the end has on the t-strap sandels i ordered from belks last night. no really !!!!!
LOOKS LIKE THEY WERE IN STYLE BACK THEN
In conjunction with my last posting… I think of that “Sesame Street” song where the singer begins, “One of these things is not like the others; one of these things is not the same, etc.”
We pulled the maid off the phones to serve the milk and cookies. Now…. let’s get this party started!
Fun times back in the day
Our humor already on display
One serious, some funny, some risque’
Forerunners of the Gecko and Caveman at play
We were proud of our company, even then, I’d say
I’m blessed to have worked here for 40 years with no dismay
We’re following in great footsteps happily selling GEICO all the way!
This is why we can’t drink during lunch any more….
