Ah, holiday music. You’ve been hearing it in every store since Black Friday. Some radio stations have been playing it since after Halloween. And some of you probably want to throw your radio off a cliff if you hear “Frosty the Snowman” one more time.
But there are some holiday songs I love listening to on a December road trip or on my iPod when I fly home for Christmas. Below are my top 10.
What’s on your holiday playlist this year?
- Coldplay – Christmas Lights
- Dave Matthews – Christmas Song
- Bruce Springsteen – Merry Christmas, Baby
- Paul McCartney – Wonderful Christmastime
- Wham! – Last Christmas
- U2 – Christmas (Baby, Please Come Home)
- Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers – Christmas All Over Again
- Manheim Steamroller - Deck the Halls
- Trans-Siberian Orchestra – Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24
- Stevie Wonder – What Christmas Means to Me

straight no chaser – Christmas Can Can & the 12 days of Christmas (in Africa) these men are geniuses!
John Tesh’s Christmas Collection makes my heart melt!!!!!!
Also, anything by Harry Wilson
“Dominick the Donkey” always gives me a good Christmas chuckle. I love it when it comes up on the playlist. Lalala the Italian Christmas donkey!
I like to support local talent. There’s a really good local Chorus in Alexandria called “The Alexandria Harmonizers”. They are an International Award-Winning Chorus and have a really good Holiday Album. Some traditional; some unique, but all of it is just awesome!
Then of course for pure fun you have to tap along to Clint Black’s “Milk ‘n Cookies”
It’s not Christmas until Lennon or Presley come on the radio. Happy Christmas everyone!
