Time to vote … for your favorite Halloween candy

Yeah, there’s a big, important election coming up next month, and everybody should definitely get out there and vote for their favorite candidates, but before we even get to November, there’s another pressing issue only you, the American public, can decide.
What’s your favorite Halloween candy?
Not important, you say? Well, according to a quiz I found on the Internet (so you know it’s true), the average American consumes 24 pounds of candy yearly – a large portion of it Halloween-generated. And the average American family spends $44 on Halloween candy. So there’s a lot at stake here.
Now some folks like hard candies, lollipops, taffy or that waxy, sugary candy corn. I’ll eat those if there’s nothing else available, but those kinds of treats are not my confections of choice. For my money there are two essential ingredients in the ideal candy, not just for Halloween, but all year long.
Chocolate.
Peanuts.
Anything that includes those two things is going to rate highly on my list. So fill my bag with Baby Ruth, Snickers, Reese’s and peanut M&Ms, and you can keep all that other stuff for yourself. By the way, that same quiz states that Snickers is the most popular chocolate bar. I rest my case.
What’s yours?

And Im sorry I spelled your name wrong Mr. Gecko…Still love you tho!
Twizzlers!
My favorite candy is KitKat… followed closely by CRUNCH and Twix.

Watermelon Laffy Taffy (with the candy seeds!)
Reese’s Pieces
Orange Tootsie Roll Pops
Oh Henry! I’m pretty certain that 23 of my 24 lbs of yearly candy consumption is from Oh Henrys on Halloween! (Except this year, I can’t seem to find them…)
I won’t even touch candy corn though. Calling it “candy” does not make it so!
I love Baby Ruths.
Twix and Snickers Fudge version. Mmm. I love me some chocolate.
And my favorite overall thing in my Halloween basket HAS to be the cheap bright plastic spider rings!
YAY SPIDER RINGS!
I love those big, fluffy peanut butter taffies that are wrapped in black and orange.. don’t know what they’re called, but they’re the first thing i help myself to from my kid’s bags!!
ONE WORD…REESE’S PEANUT BUTTER CUPS…OK SO IT’S FOUR WORDS. EITHER WAY IT’S THE BEST!!!
I love Twix and Twizzlers! I always take these from the kids’ halloween bags.
Baby Ruths, Tootsie Rolls and Mary Janes!
reeces pumpkins! YUM!
Is there any other halloween candy besides Candy Corn?

I LOVE MARS BARS. For some reason, they fell off the face of the earth when I was in middle school. Now, at the tender age of 28, I found a box of mars bars in walmart in went NUTS! I purchased fifteen of them and put them in the freezer
. Unfortunately for the trick-or-treaters, these will NOT be given out for halloween.

Tis the season for “bad” intake habits. First: the Halloween candy. Next: Thanksgiving pig-out. Lastly: More pigging out at Christmas/New Year’s. And then that number one “New Year’s Resolution”— LOSE WEIGHT!!

Really? You can’t give out apples anymore? I never heard that. Of course, I haven’t seen any given out since I was a kid.
