How about a fair or festival this weekend? In New Mexico, the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta, the world’s premier balloon event, will fill the sky with colorful hot-air balloons and should be on your list of things not to miss. For beautiful crafts at one of Palm Beach’s favorite events, Floridians can take a stroll through Delray Beach at the Downtown Delray Beach Craft Festival this weekend. If you’re in Maryland this weekend, stop by the Baltimore Party in the Park in Cockeysville for local crafts, games, shows and tasty treats at Baltimore’s best fall festival. North Carolinians will celebrate at the 128th Dixie Classic Fair in Winston-Salem with rodeos, food, and local music. Texans know that the State Fair of Texas has been a family tradition since 1886. This Dallas event has something for everyone — great food, an auto show, entertainment and more.

Miss GEICO is racing through Maryland waters off Solomons Island at the 2010 OPA Offshore Racing Series presented by GEICO Race #7. Stop by to meet the team and their special guests Johnathan and Andy Hillstrand for autographs. And it’s race week for GEICO’s Sprint Cup Series NASCAR driver Casey Mears in the Price Chopper 400 presented by Kraft Foods at the Kansas Speedway on Sunday. Fishing fans can cheer on Christiana Bradley, GEICO’s bass angler, who’s competing in the LAPR Bass Series Classic this weekend.

In Southern California, the 2010 MCAS Miramar Air Show in San Diego features the U.S. Navy Blue Angels and the Canadian Snowbirds. The skies of Colorado Springs will also be hopping with excitement with an appearance by Tim Weber, GEICO’s aerobatic pilot, at the In Their Honor Air Show which serves to celebrate America’s heroes of today — those in the U.S. military.

Football fans, visit us in Tuscaloosa when  the Alabama Crimson Tide takes on the Gators of the University of Florida. We’ll also be at Colorado State University where the Rams battle the Horned Frogs of Texas Christian University in Fort Collins. Make sure you stop by the GEICO tent and vote for the Best of 2010 in college football!

Anything we missed that is going on in your area? Let me know! I love to hear about fun, local events.

Ford Ironman Championshiop in Hawaii.  I’d imagine that the sponsorship $$$ for that is not too steep.  This is THE event for Triathlons every year.  We need to be a sponsor in the event &/or sponsor athletes.  It would be VERY inexpensive to have our GEICO name plastered all over a participant’s shorts and jersey
