It’s the final installment of the music festival series, but #MusicMonday will live on. E-mail me with other themes or genres you’d like to see featured. But first, here are three festivals across the country happening in October:
Austin City Limits
The sold-out 2010 Austin City Limits (ACL) Music Festival is a three-day event in Austin, Texas, with eight stages of music that attracts over 65,000 people each day. This year’s headliners include The Eagles, Muse, Phish, The Strokes, M.I.A., and The Flaming Lips. Dates: Oct. 8-10.
Treasure Island Music Festival
Located on man-made Treasure Island in the San Francisco Bay, this two-day festival features electronica and hip-hop on day one, while the second day features rock and indie rock. This year, LCD Soundsystem and Belle & Sebastian headline the two days. See the full lineup, learn how to get to the island, and get updates on Twitter. Dates: Oct. 16-17.
This October festival moves from New York City to Asheville, N.C., this year and is much more than just a music festival. Moogfest also features workshops, demonstrations and discussion panels celebrating Robert Moog’s musical vision. Check it out on Twitter and Facebook. Dates: October 29-31.
The final playlist of the summer features my favorites from the three festivals.
