Charity begins at home

Our associates never cease to amaze us with the work they do in their communities. Here are a few things that GEICO associates across the nation have been doing in their neighborhoods.

A few weeks ago, the fashionistas in our Dallas regional office volunteered for a day at Camp John Marc where they helped kids tie-dye T-shirts. Camp John Marc is a summer camp for children sponsored by the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA); GEICO has been a partner of the MDA for nearly 10 years.

Earlier this summer, GEICO associates in our regional office in Fredericksburg helped to raise more than $13,000 by participating in the Great Strides Cystic Fibrosis Walk. The GEICO team sold raffle tickets and held a bake sale to contribute to the total.

Our West Coast associates held a three-week long food drive to benefit, Mama’s Kitchen. Mama’s Kitchen delivers three nutritional meals a day, seven days a week, at no charge to men, women and children living with AIDS or cancer. In just those short weeks, more than three barrels of non-perishable food items were donated to Mama’s Kitchen.

As you’ll see below, even the GEICO Gecko made a special appearance and tie-dyed a few shirts of his own.

Thanks to our associates nationwide who are regularly contributing to their local communities. Keep up the good works!
