GEICO and the NHL

OK, hockey lovers, we get it — the smell of the ice, the chill in the air and the intense action that is the NHL. Because we get it, GEICO is a proud sponsor of the NHL for the 2009/2010 season. We love hockey fans’ loyalty and devotion, and because we had already been sponsoring 17 of the 24 U.S.-based hockey teams, we felt that the NHL partnership would complete the circle.

Guess who else loves hockey … the GEICO Caveman. From cleaning the ice to travelling out to Boston for the Winter Classic, the Caveman is a true hockey fan — just ask Mike Green of the Washington Capitals. Rumor has it the Caveman is such an over-the-top hockey fan, he’s willing to travel just about anywhere for a game. He may show up somewhere during the playoffs or finals, so keep an eye out.

Check back tomorrow for useful links to satisfy your NHL playoff appetite.

Love, love, love the GEICO caveman commercials tho this one is a bit Caps-centric.  The ones with 3 Doors Down are my fave (esp the bowling one).  Totally hate the rhetorical question commecials (Charlie Daniels, Too Tall Jones, etc).

These are the worst commercials ever, who ever came up with them for the NHL playoffs should be fired. BORING!!!!  We change the channel as soon as they come on…..
